For the front-end, Euro-Smartict provides an advanced authentication solution where users can be identified using secure identity based on smartcard, certificates and/or biometrics. Authentication is enhanced by using a dynamic challenge /response mechanism. After identification the server sends a challenge requesting a response. The user calculates the response using a smart card, a PDA or mobile phone, in combination with a high level encryption mechanism. If the response matches, the verification is successful. The major advantage that our solution provides is that regardless from which channel the user is accessing the system, and regardless the mean of authentication used, there is only on central point of verification. This results in cost cut, better maintenance and a more effective way of revoking access among systems.
